Lots of new fractal friends have been added to the Oz Wildlife Studio Shop. This time they are matted prints for your young child’s bedroom wall or to decorate the nursery with bright and eye-catching, educational wall art. Here’s a preview of some of the designs and of course, they can all be personalised with your own child’s name or personal wording.
Pin ItThis post caught my eye as I witness similar behaviour in my garden. These feisty little birds show no fear of much larger birds when it comes to feeding time. For this sulphur-crested cockatoo, spotted yesterday in Sydney’s Hyde Park, it came in the form of a noisy miner swooping in to knock him off his perch. Taronga Zoo bird expert Matthew Kettle said miners rarely hesitated to pester larger species invading their turf, particularly with nesting season so close. “They’re not really trying to harm the cockatoo, they’re just want to bug him to a point where he will leave,” Mr Kettle said.
An early taste of spring has native animals going wild. Mild days last week saw babies at Mt Macedon’s Wild Action Zoo poke their heads out of their pouches for the first time this winter.
Battered and bruised after a lonely night in the bush, these abandoned twin baby wallabies are born survivors. The helpless pair – weighing in at just 400g each and barely five months old – were yesterday recovering after being found at Killara, Sydney at the weekend.

A customer who purchased my “Singing in the Rain” – rainbow lorikeets keyring kindly sent me these photographs. Looks like this inquisitive lorikeet approves of the keyring! “Hey that looks like me !”
Here is a collection of handmade products by Etsy artists who have been inspired by wildlife. My “Spring Pond Reflections” card has been included. This Treasury was put together by sonnyspics on Etsy.
This is beautiful footage of the butterfly emerging from the chrysalis. The music is lovely as well. Such a precious and fragile new life. Video was captured in real time with Canon 5D MKII and Canon 180mm Macro lens. These are images taken at the Centre at http://www.butterflyworldproject.com/
